Here is a showcase of the uniform and equipment of a conscript in the Danish Civilforsvarset (Civil Defence Forces). Specifically, this shows how Medicinisk Personale {Medical Personnel] of a Redningsgruppe [Rescue Squad] would be outfitted in the mid-1970s to late-1980s.
The Uniform worn is the M71 and thermal shirt with early "grandad" collar and no cuff adjustments. The M71 uniform pattern was a huge modernization compared to the earlier M50 uniforms, which were woollen and basically of WW2 vintage. This is a four pocket US M-65 style jacket, with a rubberized liner between the outer fabric and the inner liner and a detachable hood.
The helmet is an Austrian M-1 "euroclone" bought from HBA (Heeresbekleidunganstalt) in Austria and issued to the CF fairly extensively, with standard inner liner shell (in CF Grey) with suspension type liner and the outer has been painted grey (badly) at some point, with its flaked revealing bits of the Austrian paint underneath. However, it is in otherwise good condition internally and externally.
On the left side the Haversack for the M45-E Respirator is worn - E being short for "Engelsk" or English model as these were Surplus LAGRs from WW2 British Stocks (they also used leftover from the wartime Wehrmacht). Also carried are the NBC Gloves (black rubber, not pictured) inside the haversack.
On the right is a Danish Clone of a British Shell Dressing Haversack with some small modernizations, such as the card liner. This is designed to hold up to 20 dressings [in Danish, "Forbinding"] Model 1948 1st and 2nd type as well as armklæde (arm cloth) bandages, two large Forbinding Model 1948 type 3 Trauma bandages, pad and pencil for casualty labels, safety pins and shears.
And finally, clipped to the left side of the jacket on a button concealed under the velcro there is a NATO style Torch/Flashlight with red/green light filters as well as Blackout/Directional Screen and two inputs for a headlamp.
