Despite facing apocalyptic weather, scheduling clashes, and a wide range of automotive breakdowns, the group spent the 5th-7th of July at Capel Military show in Surrey, putting on a late-Aktivdienst (WW2) themed display with our friends from Wehrhafte Schweiz 262. Aiming for breadth in our display, we had members of the group representing regular Army mountain infantry, the Ortswehr (Home Guard), the Frauenhilfsdienst (Women’s Auxiliary Service) and Luftschutz (Air Raid Protection). Usual favourites, the carrier pigeons and a broad selection of weapons, made their return, along with a range of other communication and combat equipment.
Next on the calendar is Military Odyssey, where the group will be staging a walking display this year. We look forward to seeing some of you there!
