It was an absolute pleasure for the group to be invited back to Panzer-Weekend at Verein Militär- und Festungsmuseum Full-Reuenthal! With a sadly-reduced contingent compared to 2023, we nonetheless eagerly made the journey over to Switzerland for a long weekend of research, shopping, training and displaying. Two members of the group were trained on the 9cm Panzerabwehrkanone 58, including how to operate, load, (sadly only dry-) fire, strip, clean and maintain it.
Along the way to Full-Reuenthal, we also stopped in to visit our friends from Compagnie 1861 in Zürich, where we lent a hand with their event preparations and in return received a private tour of their collections and facilities. We then visited the best gun shop in Switzerland - and probably the world - Waffen Emmental, and had the chance to try out live firing with original Swiss service weapons. Finally, we stopped off at the Swiss Army’s Historic Material Foundation (Stiftung HAM) to see their collection of more than 700 vehicles!
All in all, the trip was incredible, and we’d like to thank every one of our friends and colleagues in the hobby who welcomed us so hospitably on our travels.
