Take a Walk Through the Ages 2022

Although beset with difficulties from inclement weather, a wasp-infested site, low public turnout, food poisoning and travel issues (to name but a few), 30-31 July saw LLHG travel up to Epworth, Lincolnshire for Take a Walk Through the Ages. We used this as a test run for some displays we’re hoping to reprise later in the season, including Colonial Hong Kong and China and British Civil Defence, in addition to our tried and tested Yugoslav Partisan and Cold War Finnish sections.

Public engagement was notably low but it was good to speak to a few former soldiers who remembered being deployed to Hong Kong.

We also did our best to make the most of the event and have a good time anyway, making a name for the group in the beer tent after dark…
